Why ANX?

How we work, phase by phase.

ANX is a Tech-Enabled Studio with Hybrid Micro Venture & PE Model. We are registered in Jamaica and our team works in Jamaica.

Phase 1DiagnoseThe business joins the Advisory Hub, our own dashboard, and sets a baseline from its own figures.
Phase 2AgreeWe start with a short letter of intent. The full written agreement follows within about 60 days. ANX takes an equity stake, a share of profit or a share of a later sale, by agreement.
Phase 3ImproveOur team works with the founder on operations, technology and marketing. The founder keeps control.
Phase 4GrowOutside money from diaspora investors is considered only after the business runs well.
Phase 5Step backWhen the business reaches about US$5 million a year, or is sold, we step back from daily work and start again with a new company.

Questions founders ask.

Do I lose control of my business?
No. You stay in charge of your company and its day-to-day decisions. What ANX receives, and any say it has on big decisions such as selling the company, is set out in writing: a short letter of intent before we start, then the full agreement within about 60 days. You see and agree to both.
What does ANX bring?
A dedicated ANX team works with you hands-on. The team works six days a week and gives each business we take on a full working day every week. Between us we bring experience in credit underwriting, information systems, platform development, auditing and international tax, process engineering, marketing, content creation and website development, real estate, and data policy and law. This is experience we bring to the work, not legal, audit or tax advice. We check progress every week in the Advisory Hub, our own dashboard.
How does ANX make money?
By agreement, ANX takes one or more of: a stake in your company, a share of its monthly profit, or a share of the money if the company is later sold. Businesses we work with also pay a monthly fee for the Advisory Hub. The exact terms are agreed in writing: a letter of intent first, then the full agreement within about 60 days. Registering your interest is free.
Is funding guaranteed?
No. Our work starts with how the business runs, not with money. Outside money from diaspora investors is considered only after the business runs well, and only if it makes sense for the business. Nothing on this website is an offer of investment.
What happens to my information?
The register form asks only what we need to reply. If we work together, your figures and documents sit in the Advisory Hub:
  • you see every figure, and where it came from (your check-in, an upload or the ANX team);
  • when you upload an export from your bank or a payment app, we keep only a cleaned copy, with other people’s names and details removed;
  • when the ANX team opens one of your documents in the Hub, it is logged;
  • the Hub has its own privacy notice, which you see before you join.
How selective is ANX?
Very. We take on no more than five businesses at a time. Each one must meet our criteria (annual revenue of US$5 million or less, operating in Jamaica and/or founded by a Black woman, and in one of our five sectors), and we choose each one after a conversation.

From first conversation to stepping back.

Your first 30 days.

Week 1We sign a short letter of intent. You join the Advisory Hub, do your first weekly check-in, and upload exports from your bank or payment app if you have them.
Week 2The Hub sets your baseline: a status light and gauges for sales, margin, cash and how many weeks your cash will last. The ANX team reviews it with you.
Weeks 3 and 4Together we pick the two or three changes that matter most, decide who does what, and start on the first one. Weekly check-ins continue.
Day 30We review what changed and agree the next 30 days. The full written agreement follows within about 60 days.

What the label means.

01

Tech-enabled

The Advisory Hub, our own dashboard, comes first: we look at the numbers before we act.

02

Micro venture

We start companies ourselves, with a founder who brings the idea.

03

Micro PE

We partner with founders of operating businesses and take a stake by agreement. We do not buy them out.

No more than five at a time.

We take on no more than five businesses at a time, so our team can work hands-on with each founder. Our aim is to make each business worth more. We cannot promise results, but we can promise consistency, and acting in good faith for the business.

What we look for

Annual revenue of US$5 million or less, and operating in Jamaica and/or founded by a Black woman.
